Open Sky Retreat Space
Hybrid in-person and Zoom
The *commuter retreat* begins with a full day of sitting on Saturday—returning home that evening to continue your practice with dinner and sleep, and returning on Sunday after breakfast for a second day of the retreat.
The two-day retreat includes periods of zazen meditation, inside and outside walking (kinhin meditation), dharma talks, and qigong and concludes with a ceremony celebrating Buddhas Enlightenment.
Dokusan (meeting with the teacher) is available in person and online. Please attend in person if you’re able. Vaccinations and masks are required; the retreat hall is well ventilated. Bring a bag lunch each day. Chairs and cushions are available.
Overnight accommodations are available for an additional charge and include a kitchen for meal preparation. Accommodation rates. Let Gretchen know if you're interested.
The suggested dana for the retreat is a sliding scale of $50-$150. Dana is always received with gratitude. No one is ever turned away. If you're able to contribute more, it helps to support the sangha. Dana for Dharma Heart Zen

Attending both days is strongly encouraged! If there are remaining spaces, it may be possible to attend one day. Please register as soon as possible to help us with planning. Schedule and other information, as well as Zoom link, will be sent out after you register.
